I do prefer to have one person do the registering for 2 or more guests. Registrations are non-refundable; however, they are transferable to another guest for that tour. Thursday, May 24th Postponed to a later date- POWER TRIP - Weyburn / Estevan. Depart Regina, Southland Mall, north west side (by Safeway) at 8:15. Return to Regina by 9:30. Our first stop will be Weyburn to check out their marvelous museum, featuring the largest private collection of silver in North America. The museum also includes a space dedicated to the Weyburn Mental Hospital. Following our delicious lunch at the Welsh Kitchen and Bakery, we will head to Estevan for a 1 p.m. tour of the Power plant. "This tour takes you on an inside journey to the Estevan Mine site, the Shand Power station as well as the Shand Greenhouse. At the Estevan mine site, you will see some of the largest pieces of mining equipment in North America using the strip mining technique. The Shand Power Station is the most environmentally advanced coal fired generating station in Canada. The Shand Greenhouse uses excess heat from the Shand Power Station to produce thousands of tree seedlings every year for wildlife habitats and land reclamation projects across Saskatchewan."
Should time and weather allow, we will "power" out of Estevan and head to Roche Percee for a quick tour. Following another delicious meal, we will hit the road back to Regina.
Cost for the day is $125 and includes travel (15 passenger van), tour gratuities, two meals, museum fees, and taxes. Registration starts Monday, April 30th. Deadline to register is Saturday, May 12th.
Friday , June 22nd - Summer Solstice Sceptre / Sand Hills adventure. Depart Regina, Harbour Landing Lowe's parking lot, west side 8:30. We will spend the 2nd longest day of the year exploring the fabulous Sandhills area. We will start with a visit to the museum, followed by a drive through the sandhills with time to explore on foot. Cost for the day is $125 and includes travel (15 passenger van), two meals, museum fees, taxes, and meal gratuities. Registration starts Monday, May 28th. Deadline to register is Saturday, June 9th.
Tuesday, July 10th - A Giant of a Day. Willow Bunch and St. Victor Petroglyphs. Depart Regina, Southland Mall, north-west side (by Safeway) by 10 a.m. Return to Regina by 11 p.m. We will enjoy a pizza lunch at Solo Italia in Ogema, and a brief visit to their museum before carrying onto Willow Bunch. At their museum, we will hear the sad history of the Willow Bunch giant, Edouard Beaupre. Following supper at the Jolly Giant, we will head to St. Victor and the petroglyphs. Be sure to wear good "grippy" shoes so you can get up close to the petroglyphs. They are best seen in the evening which is why this tour is going to be a late one. Cost for the day is $125 and includes travel (15 passenger van), two meals, museum and tour fees, taxes, and meal gratuities. Registration starts Monday, June 18th, and deadline to register is Monday, July 2nd.
