The Southern Prairie Railway showcases the beauty of the prairies. Travelling in a beautifully restored 1922 Pullman, we will enjoy a leisurely ride across the prairie which will be at its autumn best and experience what travel in the early days of our province was like. Enjoy “the step back in time” train station prior to departure, and, along the way, we will visit an original wooden grain elevator (near and dear to my heart).
On our return to Ogema, and present day, our pizza lunch will be catered by Solo Italia. We will explore Ogema’s historic Main Street which features the only remaining British America corner gas station, an historic Fire Hall, as well as Solo Italia, where we will be able to purchase items to take a taste of Italy home with us.
Following that, we will have time to tour Ogema’s Deep South Pioneer Museum. This award winning museum features over 30 buildings, lovingly restored and furnished with appropriate pieces, accessories, and machinery.
